November 26th - Sainte Chapelle - Angela MK

Hidden among the imposing court of justice, the Sainte Chapelle only reveals itself once inside. This extraordinarily well preserved gothic gem tells us the story of gothic architecture at its best, enhanced by an incredible display of stained glass windows.
On our tour, we will retrace the history of the construction and the significance of such an endeavor for king Louis 9th and how the young king acquired the most important relics of the middle ages.  We will look at some of the details of the 1113 stained glass windows and understand the general story behind the illustrated bible.
